Synopsis[]

The chapter begins with Tae Kojima interviewing several students at her school, asking what they think about Shion Izumi, with all of them saying extremely favourable things about him, such as praising his prowess at sports, good looks and intelligence. She tells Kei Kurono that she is going to interview him afterwards while they are in the hallway, saying that she is doing as she is a member of the news club and the president assigned her as a reporter. Kurono becomes visibly nervous at this, recalling their skirmish in the classroom beforehand, where he stated that he was going to kill a great many people on Shinjuku Street. He refrains from saying anything, however, and the two of them are seen sitting around a table with Shion and his girlfriend, Ryouko, in a classroom.

Tae asks him several questions, such as what interests him and what is his favourite sport, all the while Kurono looks at him nervously. When Shion proclaims his love of football, Kurono recalls him saying earlier than sports do not interest him in the slightest. They continue talking about it for some time before Tae shifts the topic to the war between America and Iraq, and Shion states that he hates war, as it leads to people being killed for no good reason, which visibly aggravates Kurono, who realises that he is simply putting on a front for the other students.

Tae and Kurono are seen in Kurono's apartment later that night, with Tae saying that he is not such a bad guy after all. Kurono states otherwise, however, saying that he has problems, although this only confuses Tae who doesn't know Kurono's reasoning behind such a statement.

Kurono is later seen writhing around in bed while wondering whether Shion will really go through with his massacre, visibly conflicted over how much of it would be his fault, all the while Shion is seen putting on large amounts of make up all over his head and face, in order to disguise himself as a dark-skinned man.

He is then seen walking to the train station while presumably on the phone to Ryouko, at which point the chapter ends.
