A detective sees him at one point to ask about her whereabouts, and at school Tae's other classmates hardly even remember her in the first place. Tae's mother sends him a portrait which Tae drew of him, attaching a letter and asking him to keep it, which causes him to sob loudly and swear out loud that he will revive Tae, Kei Kishimoto and Masaru Kato once he gains 100 points. He walks to the Tokyo Gantz room and attempts to enter, but is unable to and walks home by himself.
Once there, he sees Reika Shimohira who came before her photo shoot, appearing shy and bashful. She then asks Kei if she hates him, which prompts him to grab her the shoulders.
