Transparency (透明, Tōmei) is the 173th chapter of the Gantz manga, written and illustrated by Hiroya Oku.

Synopsis[]
The chapter begins with Kei Kurono about to embrace his former lover, Tae Kojima before Reika Shimohira's panicked shouts alert him to the Ring Alien just behind them. Kurono manages to push Tae out of the way of its swing as a result, though she is shocked by this having seen neither Kurono nor the alien due it being a part of Gantz's mission. She reaches up to touch Kurono's face and recognises him because of it before Kurono stands up to defeat the alien. He does so in an impressive fashion, shooting it several times with his X-Gun while evading its attacks before picking up the aliens massive weapon and finishing it off with it. The mission ends because of this and the players begin to be transferred back to the Gantz Room, however, Kaoru Iwamoto walks up to Kurono somewhat panicked and states that Yoshiharu Ueda's head exploded. He states that he was simply playing with one of the Gantz Devices when he died, and the chapter ends with a close-up on Tae's camera as Kurono asks if Ueda was seen by anyone.
