Kurono is wearing his Gantz suit, running away from the Adult Onion Alien.
Synopsis[]
Kurono is rounding a corner while doing his best to get away from the onion alien. A flashback occurs when Kurono and his friends were playing tag, one of his friends promising a thousand yen for the one who catches him. In the present, Kurono subconsciously activates the suit's legs, giving him a boost in speed. Kato appears in his mind smiling at that moment. Wondering if he was killed, he curses while crying at his helplessness. With the alien still barreling towards him, Kurono picks up his speed and is able to even outrun a biker who is nearby. He notices some stairs and decides that he'll jump them just like he used to. The suit legs amplify to their fullest and help Kurono leap high just before the onion dad slashes him. He soon realizes that he is flying the entire flight of stairs and freaks out that he jumped too far. From the hill, Kato witnesses the spectacle and utters: "awesome!"
Now screaming, Kurono wonders how he was able to jump so high. Pondering if this would kill him, he tries to remain optimistic and hopes that he'll only break a few bones, until he reminds himself that he's already dead. Soon his feet touch the ground and steam emerges from exhaust ports under his boots. He loses his balance and rolls into a road block, surprisingly uninjured. He looks up in time just to see the adult alien rolling down the stairwell, almost hitting some civilians in the process. He lands in front of Kurono on his hands and stands up, ready to attack again. Shocked, Kurono doesn't know what he should do and has no clue what's going on. As Kurono trembles, Kato runs down the hill remembering the death of Hatanaka, noting how scared he is. The onion alien soon has his claw wrapped around Kurono's neck, and is then grabbed by Kato from behind. He tells his friend to run quickly while he holds the alien. Kurono can barely say his friend's name before the alien shifts his claws and slashes Kato's wrist, causing him to lose his grip and fall away. Kurono starts to shed tears as the chapter comes to a close.
