The Final Target (最後の餌食, Saigo no Ejiki) is the 105th chapter of the Gantz manga, written and illustrated by Hiroya Oku.

Kei Kurono is seen wearing a soft suit with a regular white shirt on top of it while also having in an mp3-like device with earpiece attached to it and his ear. Across his shoulder hangs his school bag.

Synopsis

The chapter begins with a group of police officers pointing their weapons at the Surviving Shorty Alien with Kei Kurono present in the classroom. One of the police officers fires upon the alien, causing it to fly backwards a small distance and Kurono begins to think that the police may be able to defeat it, at which point he sees Kyohiko Matsumura and Eisuke Nakazawa's corpses, having flashbacks where he was particularly close to them, and comes to the realization that everybody really is dead. He then sees Tae Kojima alive, however, and when the police begin to be slaughtered by the Shorty Alien, Kurono holds her hand and leads her out of the classroom.

Now downstairs, Kurono tells her to head towards the school gym, saying she will be safe there, though she is visibly traumatised by the experience in the classroom, shaking while holding Kurono's hand and simply sitting down and hugging her knees when Kurono tries to leave her.

This causes Kurono to take her to the roof instead, where he tells her to stay until it is safe, but the alien reveals itself after killing the police. The alien states that it will kill every one of Kurono's comrades and afterwards it will kill him. Kurono brings out his X-Pistol and prepares to fire, but realising that his head may explode if he does so in front of Tae, puts it back in his bag, at which point the alien does a flying kick towards her. Kurono saves her before he can do so and the alien realises that she is important to Kurono, at which point the chapter ends.
