Synopsis[]
The Shorty Alien's seemingly content expression, moments before its death
The chapter begins with the Surviving Shorty Alien being shot repeatedly by the SAT Team with Kei Kurono and Tae Kojima in close proximity, Kurono remarking at how strange it is to see its body being punched full of holes. The officers stop shooting and one of them goes to check whether the alien is dead or not, as it slouches forwards, not moving. Kurono wonders whether the alien is really dead or not, concluding that it must be due to the sight of it, but when one of the police officers goes up to it and declares that they have, in fact, killed it, the alien opens its eye and looks straight at him. When one of the officers goes to check on Kurono and Tae, the alien kills the one which went to check on it, causing the SAT Team to panic as they have run out of bullets. The alien goes on a rampage, slaughtering multiple SAT members before it targets Tae, who covers her face in fear. Kurono was hiding behind the statue to Tae's left, however, and as soon as the alien and Kurono make eye contact, Kurono fires his X-Pistol at point blank range. The alien stands still for a few moments, wearing a somewhat content expression before it explodes in a violent fashion, at which point the chapter ends.
